Starting Latisse (UnSponsored Review)

June 13, 2021

I've been wearing single eyelashes/eyelash extensions for the past 6 to 8 months.  Over time, my eyelashes have thinned.

I got a great discount from CVS (Target) versus other pharmacies (thanks to GoodRx).  So, I did mu research prior to visiting my dermatologist.  On GoodRx, the cheapest prescription for Latisse was at CVS ($45).  My neighboring Walmart was selling the prescription for $65 and some change.

Bet, I printed out a coupon for CVS and was set for the derm's office.  Days later, when i went to the dermatologist, I forgot which pharmacy was the cheapest and had her send it to Walmart. I know there was a $20 difference between CVS and Walmart, but I didn't care I just want to grow my eyelashes!

So I went to Walmart on Saturday to see if my prescription was filled.  It wasn't and I was told that it should be filled by Monday after 4 p.m.  the following day (Sunday), I receive a text from Walmart telling me that my prescription was filled and the cost would be $162.18.  Latisse on its own averages about $100; however, because a prescription needs to be filled - you may have to pay a co-pay to see your doctor.

So, anyway, I refuse to pay that type of money when I know that if I have my prescription switched to CVS all I will have to pay is $45.  So, I stopped by my neighboring CVS/Target to see if my prescription was filled.  I gave the technician my GoodRx coupon and she entered it into the system.  It took a couple of minutes; however, when she came back to the counter she told me she could give me a cheaper price.  I don't know if she gave me an employee discount or whatever.  But, I walked out with my prescription for $28.60!

I started using it that night (06/07)!  So far, so good!!  I have not experienced any adverse symptoms (so far).  Last night, I forgot to apply the Latisse.  The instructions recommend you just apply Latisse on the following day of a missed application.  I don't have many concerns about the product except for its application.

Per the instructions, you put one drop of solution onto an application brush; however, there are times when you dont feel any solution on either brush.  The instructions state that your lashes should feel wet.  Because you apply one drop of solution onto an applicator brush sometimes it doesn't feel like you are putting on any application.  For instance, tonight i chose to apply the solution on my left eye first.  When i put the drop on the brush, the brush felt dry.  When I put the solution on my right eye; my lashes were wet!  So i decided to take that brush and apply it to my left eye.  This is not a recommended approach to using Latisse, but it worked out in my favor!

6/16/2021: Some nights I'm able to feel that my lashes are wet.  Other nights not so much.  The applicator brush has a lot of bristles for 1 drop of solution.  I have noticed that sometimes my eyelashes itch, which may be a sign of em growing or it could stem from my allergies?  Throughout the process, I have not had any adverse symptoms.

6/18/2021: I know its been a little over a weel since I first started using Latisse - my eyelashes were very very thin and pretty non-existent.  I've noticed that my eyelashes are darker and that they are more apparent.  So, so far so good.  My eyelashes are making a comeback!
